Great Music

  • Titus Andronicus -

    Titus Andronicus: Monitor
Concept record from New Jersey's Titus Andronicus. A punk-infused folk rock band, Titus puts on an enegetic live show. This record, full of artistic arrangements and thought-provoking, intelligent lyric writing, is one of their best to date.

  • Deer Tick -

    Deer Tick: Divine Providence
Great new record from Rhode Island's Deer Tick. One of the best live shows I've seen, this band has energy and soul that's captured nicely on this release. Lots of fun.

  • Jimmy Gnecco -

    Jimmy Gnecco: Heart: X Edition
The voice behind "Ours" has released the second version of his solo record "The Heart", this time with full band accompaniment and new arrangements. One of the greatest voices of our time.

  • Girls -

Girls: Record 3: Father, Son, Holy Ghost
Out of San Fran, this band has crafted a great record of artful indie rock. Highlight for me is "Vomit", a musical journey front to back.

  • Dawes -

    Dawes: Nothing Is Wrong
New record from a great band out of LA. These guys have unbelievable passion and songwriting abilities. This is soulful country-infused folk rock at its finest. Check them out.

  • Biffy Clyro -

    Biffy Clyro: Only Revolutions
Produced by G-G-Garth, this trio from the UK presents an album that rivals the amazing "Puzzle", released only a few years ago. "Only Revolutions" is a whirlwind of creative songwriting, loud guitars and searing vocals. Unreal effort by this talented group of musicians.

Great Movies

  • : Michael Clayton (Widescreen)

    Michael Clayton (Widescreen)
Michael Clayton is an intense legal drama that defies a number of conventions of the genre. A pleasant breath of fresh air in terms of Hollywood "drama", this film proves that all you need is a good story, told well, to make a great movie.

  • : Back to the Future: The Complete Trilogy (Widescreen, 3 Discs)

Back to the Future: The Complete Trilogy (Widescreen, 3 Discs)
A guilty pleasure, the Back to the Future trilogy is a standout work in the nostalgic minds of many. That said, there are some interesting cinematic techniques used to combine footage of the original with the sequels and some intelligent storytelling. Highly recommended.

  • : Memento (Widescreen Limited Edition) [2 Discs]

Memento (Widescreen Limited Edition) [2 Discs]
The story of a man with short-term memory loss framed in a groundbreaking narrative shell. Director Chris Nolan tells this story in reverse, beginning with the end and working sequentially backwards towards the beginning of the situation. The direction forces viewers to question what a beginning and an end are, and allows us to feel as our main character does, never knowing what happened just before what is happening in the here and now. Brilliant.

  • : Good Night, and Good Luck

    Good Night, and Good Luck
"Without force-feeding its timely message, Good Night, and Good Luck illuminates history to enlighten our present, when the need for a free and independent press is more important than ever"
